2. Scope & Agreement
These Terms govern all sales of goods and the provision of services/workshops made via our website www.stoneofscot.land or otherwise at a distance. By placing an order or booking a workshop, you agree to these Terms. If there is any inconsistency, the order confirmation prevails over these Terms, and these Terms prevail over website policies.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force when you place your order applies.
3. Key Definitions
“Consumer”: an individual acting wholly or mainly outside their trade or profession.
“Goods”: physical products we sell.
“Services/Workshops”: our activities, appointments or experiences (closed-group unless stated).
“Booking”: a confirmed appointment after successful checkout (and, where applicable, payment).
4. Ordering & Contract Formation
Goods. Your order is an offer to buy. A binding contract forms when we dispatch the Goods.
Workshops. For workshops booked via our website, a binding contract forms when your booking is confirmed (and up-front payment is successfully taken, where required). We may cancel due to obvious errors, unavailability, safety, or force majeure (refunds per §9).
We display total prices, key characteristics and cancellation information before you commit.
5. Prices, Taxes & Currency
We are not VAT registered. Prices are shown in GBP; no VAT is charged or reclaimable. Any delivery charges for Goods are shown separately before checkout. If your card provider uses another currency, fees or exchange rates may apply (your provider’s terms apply).
6. Payment
We accept Stripe. For workshops, up-front payment (or a stated deposit) may be required to secure your group’s slot. We may use automated fraud screening and decline transactions that cannot be verified.
7. Delivery of Goods
Delivery areas: worldwide, unless restricted by law, carrier limitations or our shipping partners. Estimated delivery times are indicative. Risk in Goods passes on delivery; title passes when we receive full payment. For international orders, the customer is responsible for any customs duties or taxes.
8. Consumer Right to Cancel (Distance Contracts)
Goods. If you are a consumer, you have 14 days after delivery to cancel without giving any reason. You must return Goods within 14 days of cancelling; we refund within 14 days of receiving the Goods (or proof of sending). You bear return costs unless we agree otherwise. Deductions may apply for handling beyond what is necessary to establish nature/characteristics/functioning.
Services/Workshops. You have 14 days from booking to cancel. If you asked us to start the service within the 14-day period, you will pay a proportionate amount for work performed up to cancellation; if the service is fully performed within that period, the right to cancel is lost.
Exceptions. No cancellation right for made-to-measure/personalised Goods and other statutory exceptions.
9. Our Workshop Policy (Closed-Group Bookings)
Closed group. One booking = one private group; we do not add external participants.
Group size & suitability. Maximum participants: 8. Minimum ages and supervision: 16 years old, accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.
Customer cancellation (commercial policy):
> 30 days before: refund 100%
7–30 days before: refund 75%
< 7 days before or no-show: no refund
Our cancellation/rescheduling. We may cancel or move a session for safety, severe weather, instructor illness, site access or force majeure; you may choose a new date or a full refund of amounts paid for that session.
10. Safety, Participation & Conduct (Workshops)
You must follow all safety briefings and instructions—especially when using knives, axes, saws, bows, swords, chainmail or other tools/props. Wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear; bring any items listed in the booking page or reminder email. Tell us in advance about relevant medical conditions or access needs. We may refuse or stop participation if safety is at risk, without refund where caused by breach of instructions.
11. Faults, Quality & Remedies
Goods. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.
Services. We will provide services with reasonable care and skill; where we do not, you may be entitled to repeat performance or a price reduction under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
12. Liability
We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraudulent misrepresentation. For other losses, our liability to business customers is limited to the higher of £500 or the total price paid for the relevant order or workshop, excluding indirect or consequential loss, only to the extent permitted by law and subject to reasonableness. Consumer statutory rights are not affected.
13. Age Restrictions & Supervision
Minimum ages for particular workshops: 16 years old. Minors must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or other responsible adult designated by the customer.
14. Photos, Media & Consent
We may photograph sessions for personal keepsakes and, with explicit consent, for our marketing channels. If you or a minor you are responsible for do not wish to be photographed, please tell us in advance and on the day.
